Wynn Las Vegas Restaurants Keep the Foodies Coming

Wynn Las Vegas Restaurants Chefs Work on Site

There's one key difference between Wynn Las Vegas restaurants and all of the other gourmet hot spots on The Strip: the chefs who front Las Vegas Wynn restaurants don't just “front” these eateries.

They don't choose the color scheme, carpeting and light fixtures, come up with the initial menu, slap their names on a sign and then take off for other food meccas around the world. They stay and work in their Wynn Las Vegas restaurants.

The chefs at Wynn Hotel restaurants tweak and oversee, they bully and wheedle, and then they actually have a hand in dishing up your dinner and suggesting wine pairings. They're not running off to market their next value-priced frozen entree for busy soccer moms (not that there's anything wrong with that).

They are on site, and fully engaged in what they serve. And for Foodies with more discerning palates--especially if they're used to dining at hot spots on The Strip--that could make all the difference in the Vegas culinary world.

Las Vegas Wynn Restaurants – Where to Begin?

So who and what will you find at these popular restaurants? Here are some of your award-winning, gastrointestinal choices at the luxury resort on the north end of The Strip:

Alex, by Chef Alessandro Stratta
Personally, we can vouch for the Wagyu Beef as well as the Black Bass – both were sublime. But if you don't believe us, know that Alex is one of the most award-winning Wynn Las Vegas restaurants--winning the Forbes Travel Five Star Award in 2008, 2009 and 2010. And AAA awarded Alex the Five Diamond Award of Excellence in those years as well. Plus it gets rave reviews by Gourmet Magazine.

The recipes are rooted in the French Riviera, the décor is dark and elegant, jackets are suggested, and the restaurant is open Wednesday through Saturday from 6 to 10 p.m.

Bartolotta, by Chef Paul Bartolotta
The seafood and shellfish are flown in daily...from the Med. The gnocchi is handmade. And, you'll have a choice of dining indoors or al fresco at this Italian coastal draw. Bartolotta won the AAA Four Diamond Award in 2008, 2009 and 2010, and a James Beard Foundation Award for Best Chef, Southwest 2009.

Dine here nightly from 5:30 – 10 p.m.. Casual business attire will be appropriate for this setting.

The Country Club, by Chef Carlos Guía
What's better than a clubhouse steak after a round on the links? Not much. And Chef Guía pays homage to this American tradition at this one of the Wynn Las Vegas restaurants...with views of the only fairways on The Strip. The 2009 Michelin Guide gives this most traditional of Wynn Las Vegas restaurants rave reviews. Plus, this is one of the few fine dining establishments open for brunch and lunch.

The Country Club opens for brunch on Saturdays from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Relax to Jazz Brunch on Sundays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Guía serves lunch Monday through Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., and dinners from 5:30 – 10 p.m.

Wynn Las Vegas Restaurants for Flavorful Fare

Okada, by Chef Masa Ishizawa
Okada is more than sushi. It's teppanyaki and robata (ancient grilling method with charcoal) too. It's tempura and soba and fresh Maine lobster ceviche. It's really a wealth of tastes that have been honored with AAA Four Diamond Awards (not exactly surprising for Las Vegas Wynn restaurants) for the past three years.

Like many of the Wynn Las Vegas restaurants, Okada opens for dinner all week at 5:30 p.m., and closes at 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, or 10:30 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. You will be comfortable here in casual business attire.

Stratta, by Chef Alessandro Stratta
Chef Stratta has two Wynn Hotel restaurants, both named for himself. One is the much acclaimed and much swankier Alex, while the Stratta is a much more casual affair. Nosh on pizzas around an open fire hearth or order traditional Italian dishes like Rigatoni with Meatballs, or a Bolognese Baked Lasagna at the lounge. If you want good, old-school Italian cooking, the Stratta is the place to go.

The Stratta opens for lunch on weekends only, from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., and for dinner every night from 5:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Additionally, you'll be able to nosh all night long, since the Stratta offers a Starlight Menu . You'll be able to get food from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m. any day of the week. Don't forget to try the warm, Nutella-stuffed donuts for an early breakfast!

SW Steakhouse by Chef David Walzog
Sitting beside Wynn's spectacular Lake of Dreams and waterfall won't be the only thing that keeps you agog. Better prop up your chins, or someone might just catch you salivating uncontrollably at one of the best Wynn Las Vegas restaurants and Sin City steakhouses ever. Start with the Kobe Beef Carpaccio and then decide if you're continuing with prime-aged steaks or moving on to the chops or Big Eye Tuna. But save a little room for the Dark Chocolate Soufflé Cake at this three year, AAA Four Diamond Award winner.

SW Steakhouse serves dinner nightly, from 5:30 - 10 p.m. Dress code is casual business attire.

Tableau, by Chef David Spero
The atmosphere is light and bright, while the food is simply sublime. Modern American cuisine never tasted so good, or felt so right in this light-filled atrium. And even better, Tableau is open for breakfast, lunch and brunch. We suggest the Huckleberry Pancakes for breakfast, the Dungeness Crab Club for lunch, and the Milk and Cookies Soufflé for anytime.

Tableau offers poolside dining, so the only one of the Las Vegas Wynn restaurants to completely nix the dress code. The doors open at 8 a.m. and close at 2 p.m., though you'll be able to get bar service from 5 – 9 p.m. each evening.

Wing Lei, by Chef Ming Yu
Voted “Best Chinese Restaurant” in 2007 by Las Vegas Life Magazine, Wing Lei went on to earn Michelin Stars in 2008 and 2009, as well as AAA Four Diamond Awards of Excellence for the past three years running. You'll get a mix of Cantonese, Shanghai ans Szechwan cooking styles here. Try the Imperial Peking Duck Tasting menu for something truly decadent, or Chef Yu's Signature Dinner featuring Wok-tossed Maine Lobster.

Wing Lei opens for dinner nightly at 5:30 p.m. and closes at 10 p.m. Please arrive in casual business attire.

Las Vegas Wynn Restaurants for Wake-Up Meals

More Casual Wynn Hotel Restaurants

Want something quicker? Don't want to wear a button-down shirt? Try one of these options for more casual fare:

The Buffet: It's expensive, and the lines are long, but when people crowd to eat at a particular place, that's usually a very good sign. Besides, The Las Vegas Review Journal rated this the Best in 2009, and you'll enjoy the whimsical feel of the Buffet at the Wynn just as much as the extensive seafood, meat and dessert selections.

Cabana Bar & Casino: Since it is part casino, you'll need to be 21 to eat here. But of all the Wynn Las Vegas restaurants, Cabana Bar & Casino is a great place for quick eats and cool drinks and is open from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. (8 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays).

The Café at the Drugstore: This is the place for your cafeine and pastry fix, but they'll also serve desserts, sandwiches and salads. And it's open around the clock.

Pizza Place: It's not just New York style pizza. It's also homemade ice cream, big screen TVs, and waterfall adjacent dining. Choose an indoor or outdoor table.

Red 8: Another of the Las Vegas Wynn Restaurants dishing up the Orient, this one specializes in Southeast Asian cuisine. Cantonese noodles, dim sum and Hong Kong BBQ keeps Wynn Hotel guests coming back.

Terrace Pointe Café: Looking for the perfect breakfast or lunch spot? Dine indoors or out, overlooking Wynn's signature gardens and pool areas. It's light, bright and open from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Zoozacrackers: This New York style deli serves lunch, dinner and late-night fare till 11 p.m. (midnight on Fridays and Saturdays). One of the few Wynn Las Vegas restaurants open for late bites.

Wynn Las Vegas Restaurants – Wait, There's More!

Think you have a lot to choose from when dining at the Wynn? Well, you'll find even more choices if you walk over to the Wynn Encore. And whether you stay at Wynn or Encore, you'll be able to save on amenities, dining, clubbing and room rates if you package your deals. Check here for the latest information on package deals.
