Palms Hotel Las Vegas: Young, Hip, And Off The Strip
The Palms Hotel Las Vegas defied conventional wisdom when it became the hippest and hottest spot in Vegas despite the fact that it's not on The Strip. In fact, The Palms Las Vegas is so cool that it made Vegas bring the party to its doorstep rather than the other way around. An entire season of MTV's “The Real World” was filmed in a giant suite there (where guests with a bit of money can stay to this day) and the 2007 MTV VMAs were broadcast from the resort. The Palms Hotel in Las Vegas features an updated version of the classic 70's hipster hotspot The Playboy Club, with its own casino that fit for Hugh Hefner, the ulta-cool 55th floor Ghostbar with a glass floor on the outdoor patio, The Moon nightclub, which features a retractable roof that lets partygoers stargaze as they dance on temperate nights, an in-resort recording studio, and “Fantasy Suites” with amazing themes... including “The Hardwood Suite,” which features a basketball court, “The Playpen Suites,”with built-in stripper poles, and six “Sky Villas,” which feature a private outdoor pool with stunning views of the Vegas skyline. All of the cool and unique elements that were built into The Palms Las Vegas paid off, creating a hip cache that attracts A-Listers looking to take a break from the Hollywood scene away from The Strip and in through the resort's front doors. The Palms Hotel in Las Vegas plays host to the annual CineVegas International Film Festival, where red-hot new movies make their world premiere as the stars walk the red carpet, and the resort was the home base of all but one season of Bravo's hit show, Celebrity Poker Showdown, where big time stars laid their cards out. Instead of a resident show or performer, The Palms Las Vegas features The Pearl theater, where a diverse collection of the hottest artists in the world, including Lady Ga Ga, LCD Soundsystem, The Killers, Phoenix, Jay Z, and Morrissey, have performed. Stars can also often be spotted enjoying prime aged steak and selections from the champagne and caviar bar at the Palms' hip N9ne Steakhouse, or snacking on less upscale yet equally delicious fare at the open-all-night 24/7 cafe. The Palms Las Vegas also features some of the best pools in town featuring “cave” cabanas, and the hot “Ditch Fridays” pool party, where DJ Jazzy Jeff is the resident record spinner, marks the official start of the Vegas weekend during the scorching summer months. No wonder The Palms Hotel Las Vegas is the go to destination for young movie stars, musicians, and athletes when they want to escape for a weekend of fun in Sin City... it's far and away the hippest place in town.
