Fred's High Roller Blog-Fred is NOT DEAD!
However, I did get a chance to take a couple gambling trips. I really should have stopped in but you know how things go. Anyways, I plan to blog at least once a month from now on. Unless some things interesting pop up, and in that case I'll jump on and do the blog. So with that being said, I'll hit a couple of high points from a couple of my last trips. Las Vegas- I went here during Halloween. I went there with Kyle, and let me just say HOLY CRAP! I've never been there for Halloween before, but what an experience. The whole town was a Halloween party. Everyone was dressed up. And I do mean EVERYONE from young to old, to some dealers and pit bosses. I pretty much gambled the whole time but Kyle hit up all the nightclubs. His stories are definitely more interesting than mine. Kyle said he went to the nightclubs at Caesars and the Rio (Pure and VooDoo Lounge if my memory serves me correctly) with one of his friends. They said they had a great time. Although I didn't go do all those young people activities I still had a great time. We stayed at the Mirage but gambled pretty much everywhere. Overall, I won about $20k. Atlantic City- I went here in November. I stayed at Harrah's for the weekend. They gave me a suite with two bathrooms in it, haha. It was a really nice room. Blackjack wasn't as nice to me though as I lost about $30k. I gambled all over including Harrah's, Bally's, Caesars, Showboat, Trump Taj and Plaza, and I couldn't get anything going. I only had one winning session. One funny story- I was in Bally's and playing with a nice older lady and here comes a young drunk kid. The kid didn't have any idea how to play. One hand he was dealt Ace/4 for soft 15 and the dealer was showing a face card. It comes to him and he says "I'll stay. I don't want to bust." "You don't want to bust?!?" the older lady says, "Honey you have SOFT 15. You can't bust! Take a card." The kid comes back, "Look lady, I want the dealer to bust. If I get a face card I'll have 25." "No you won't! Take a card!" The kid shouts, "Look here lady, it's not my fault you don't know how to add! Last time I checked 15 plus 10 equals 25!" Then the fireworks started. The older lady started screaming that he was an idiot, and he started yelling back. I thought that they were going to come to blows! Anyways, the kid stays and the dealer has 20 so he loses. He gets up and says, "This table is unlucky. I'm going somewhere else." Then the older lady yells, "And stay away you dumbass!" Haha, you really can never tell what is going to happen in casinos, I swear. Hard Rock Hollywood, FL- I got bored one day and dropped in at the Hard Rock. It really isn't my favorite casino in the world, but it's a short flight. Anyways, I played there and had a little luck and won about $5k. It was kind of an uneventful trip. I played with some really nice people and had a good time but no stories really worth telling. So, I haven't been able to go gambling as much as I would like lately but I do have a couple trips in mind coming up. So until next time...good luck at the tables and it's good to be back! -Fred
