Fred's High Roller Blog- Atlantic City
I just got back from Atlantic City. Great trip I have to say. The weekend was pretty busy, and I'm totally beat...
Friday I flew up there with an old friend of mine. We got to fly directly into Atlantic City, which was nice because most of the time you have to fly into Philadelphia and ride for about another hour or so to Atlantic City. There was a limousine waiting on us, and they took us to Harrah's. This was the first time we stayed at Harrah's. If you've ever been to Harrah's, you know that this is probably the biggest of the Atlantic City hotels. Haha, it took us 30 min. to find our hotel room! So we finally find our room, and now we decide to hit the blackjack tables. I decided to start at a smaller table $25min $1000max and managed to lose $4000 in 20 minutes. So I tell my buddy that I've had enough of this. I walked directly into high stakes and plop down a $3000 bet. BLACKJACK! Right off the bat! I lowered my bet and played a couple of hands, and I bet $3000 again. I got an 8 and a 3 against a dealer 5. Well, time to double! Boom, facecard! Long story short I ended up winning about $10 thousand after playing about 2 more hours. So that night we went over to Caesars because I had a bunch of comps over there. They gave me a $500 watch, $200 food voucher, and a $300 giftcard. We went to dinner at a place called Mia, and boy was that good! I had the filet mignon, and it was probably the most tender piece of steak I've ever had. I also had mashed potatoes with pieces of lobster in them. Wow, I would suggest everyone check this place out because it's really good. So I decided to play a little at Caesars, and I lost $8000. Haha, I guess they know what they're doing giving me $1000 in free stuff! So after that we went back to our hotel and went to bed. Saturday we got up and I played a little at Harrah's. I lost about $3000, so we decided to hit up some other places on the boardwalk. We went to the Tropicana, Taj Mahal, and the Showboat. I lost a little at the Taj, and won a good amount at Tropicana. Tropicana Atlantic City is an alright place, but it's really fun when you win a bunch of money! From there we headed to the Showboat and I won a little over there. By this time it was getting a little late, so we went back to Harrah's and I decided to go over to the poker room. I sat down and played a little 2-5 no limit hold'em. Smaller stakes I know, but I just wanted to relax. So at my table there were two guys that said they were cousins. They were messing with each other a little, and guy #1 takes a $1 chip off of guy #2's stack. Guy #1 goes outside to smoke a cigarette so guy #2 decides to take a $25 chip off of guy #1's stack. This is where it gets nuts, because the dealer saw him do it. She told him to put it back and he told her that he wasn't going to do that because it was his cousin, and he wanted to mess with him. So she insists, and he still tells her no. Then she calls security. Security comes over and guy #2 tells him that he knows the guy. The security guard tells him that he doesn't care who he knows, and that he was going to kick him out if he didn't give the chip back. So then guy #2 looks at the table and says, "WHO THE F*** DOES THIS GUY THINK HE IS? MR. HARRAH'S?" Haha, it was probably one of the funniest lines I've ever heard at a poker table. At this point they get into an argument, and they kick the guy out. I ended up winning a little and going to bed. Sunday morning we played a little at Borgata, and Harrah's. By now we had to go and catch the plane. I ended the trip up about $12 thousand, and my buddy won about $1500. So overall, we got a free trip with a bunch of goodies, and we came home with some money. A fun trip for sure, but I'm glad to be home because I tend to run wide open in that town. I'm taking next week off, and we are going to be doing our first edition of "Ask Fred". So go ahead and send me questions about anything having to do with the high roller lifestyle. Haha, well go ahead and send me questions about anything, and I'll pick the best ones and we'll put them on the site. So until next time, I'm off to bed...
