Imperial Palace Casino Las Vegas: Classic Old Vegas Action
The Imperial Palace Casino Las Vegas NV is lower key than some of its flashier neighbors. There aren't a lot of high rollers and even with all the usual slot machine bells and whistles and the occasional yelp from the craps table, it's not at all intimidating. You're as likely to be playing next to a grandma from Australia as you are a buzzed college kid on a break. However, all that "low-key" disappears when it's time for the best reason to do your gaming at the Imperial Palace Casino Las Vegas. The Dealertainers. These blackjack and roulette dealers are also impersonators of some of your favorite music stars. One minute they're pulling cards out of a blackjack shoe or spinning a roulette ball, in costume and make-up. The next they might jump onto the tiny railed stage and belt out a number, with appropriate dance moves. Every day from 11 am-4 am, you might catch a number by Joan Jett or Alice Cooper, Stevie Wonder or Garth Brooks, Janet or Avril or Madonna, Beyonce, Billy Idol, or Blues... Brother, that is. The Dealertainers are great fun to watch, but be careful. They'll definitely break your concentration on the game. And an extra warning: They are LOUD. If you're sitting at the Dealertainers pit, you're going to be blasted nearly out of your seat. In the Imperial Palace Casino Las Vegas, you've got the whole gamut of reel and video slots, like the new Star Wars and Wizard of Oz penny slots with their high-backed vibrating chairs, all the Monopoly games and gems and pharaohs and DaVinci and Elvis and whatever else they've thought up in the last few weeks to design a slot machine around. There are the classic 7s-and-bars reels, double diamond, and video poker, especially at the bars, and it's mostly low-to-medium roller gambling. The Imperial Palace Las Vegas consistently gets high marks for its good drinks service. Lately, there's been a special aura of luck hanging around the place. In June, 2010, a guy from California put a couple bucks in a Wheel of Fortune progressive machine and hit it for $1,077,518.36. If you want to gaze at the machine in awe, or maybe rub against it for luck, it's by the escalators that lead up to Hash House a Go Go. Another highlight at the Imperial Palace Casino Las Vegas, NV is the Race and Sports Book. It's not just a separate corner of the casino; it's a whole separate floor. Built for serious bettors in a sort of old-Vegas style, it's got stadium-like seating with 230 individual TVs at the desk-like seats plus a dozen huge screens around the room. In the sports book, you'll find 20 TVs, 10 of them large screen. The action covers all major tracks and races, including harness racing, all major sports, Nascar, PGA, Arena football. For every NFL Sunday game, the Imperial Palace Las Vegas converts the 800-seat theater into a sports book with food and cocktail service. The IP poker room holds a daily No Limit Texas Hold ’Em Tournament. Monday through Friday at Noon, 3pm, and 8pm there's a $40 buy-in with optional re-buys. Saturday and Sunday at 9 am, the buy-in is $25 with unlimited $10 re-buys the first hour. Registration for the daily tournaments begins 2 hours before play begins. All-in-all, the Imperial Palace Casino Las Vegas is a good place to play for low-rollers or those put off by the super-glitz of the flashier, more expensive hotel casinos. There's no nose-in-the-air stuff here, just decent machines, friendly service and regular folks. And oh yeah, those Dealertainers!
