Imperial Palace Auto Collection:
A Car Lover's Dream Come True

Imperial Palace Auto Collection

If classic cars are your passion, the Imperial Palace Auto Collection is Nirvana. 125,000 sq. ft. full of a few hundred of the most beautiful automobiles every created on God's green earth. It gives you a chance to share a room with about $100 million worth of class-on-wheels.

From exotic cars of the '20s and '30s to never-produced prototypes for concept cars, to a good range of '50s and '60s muscle cars, like a Mustang Shelby GT or a 1965 Buick Skylark Grand Sport, this is the showroom of showrooms. You'll find the 1939 Chrysler Royal Sedan Johnny Carson drove to his senior prom. Or drool over the 1938 Cadillac Series 90 V-16 Fleetwood Limousine, built for W.C. Fields. He often held court in this car at the corner of Hollywood and Vine, accompanied by his mistress, Carlotta Monti, and his secretary, Magna Mitchell. The car even had an electric martini mixer to keep things well oiled.

And here's the thing: more than half of these cars are FOR SALE. You could walk into the Imperial Palace Auto Collection the owner of a five-year-old Honda Civic and leave the proud possessor of a 1946 Delahaye 135MS Selborne Roadster.

In a world of glitz, glamor and phoniness, the Las Vegas car collection, Imperial Palace is incredibly low-key. The showroom/exhibit is located on the fifth floor of the parking garage of the Imperial Palace Casino Las Vegas. Though large, the room is simple, undecorated, completely unpretentious. But the cars, oh my, the cars. These babies don't need no glitz and glamor. They've got all the star power they need all on their own.

You've got more classic Rolls Royces and Porsches than you'd want to bother to count. There's a 1957 Jaguar XKSS valued at more than $7,000,000. And then there are the Italians: Bizzarini, Ferrari, Lancia, Maserati... well, you get the idea. My personal favorite? A darling turquoise-and-white 1959 Nash Metropolitan, the definition of cute. (Remember, since many of these cars are for sale, inventory does change from time to time.)

If you like cars but are not manic about them, you can see the Imperial Palace auto collection in an hour or so. But if you're the type of car freak who wants to study every fender and running board and muse over every white wall tire and strip of chrome, block out a whole afternoon. Unlike a lot of museums, you're also allowed to take pictures.

Tickets to the Las Vegas car collection at Imperial Palace cost $8.95, but you really don't need to pay that. Imperial Palace auto collection coupons for discounts and even free admission can be found in many Vegas taxis and coupon books as well as at the Imperial Palace Auto collections website.

Despite the summer heat in Las Vegas, you might want to wear long sleeves or carry a wrap because the air conditioning inside the Imperial Palace car collection is frigid.

The Imperial Palace Auto Collections

Open to the public seven days a week, 10 am to 6 pm. Located on the fifth floor of the parking structure of the Imperial Palace Hotel and Casino. If you're driving, take Koval north from Tropicana or Flamingo to Winnick and turn left. Just past the 4-way stop, turn left into the hotel garage through the tall piers.
